Our Local Special Olympics Champion of Inclusion: Sarah Jennissen of Wendy’s Peterborough

Congratulations to Sarah Jennissen, who has named a Peterborough Champion of Inclusion by Special Olympics Canada!

Special Olympics has been celebrating homegrown Champions of Inclusion as part of its Global Week of Inclusion celebrations, recognized this year July 20th to 26th. Champions of Inclusion are Canadians leading the charge to respect and embrace all abilities – not just in sports, but in the workforce, schools and community.

Balancing a work schedule with Special Olympics practices and competitions can be tough for Peterborough’s Crystal Cochrane, but her boss at Wendy’s always finds a way to make it work for Crystal. Read more about how Sarah supports Crystal’s athletic aspirations on the Special Olympics Canada website.

We also have a feature story about Crystal on our website here.
