Respite Now is a free mobile app that matches people of all ages looking for respite services with local respite workers in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, and Northumberland counties.

Both caregivers and respite workers can use the app. The app matches people’s support needs and preferences with appropriate respite workers based on skills, credentials, experiences, and availability. Caregivers and people supported review matches, choose the respite worker they wish to hire, and pay the worker directly.

Families follow these steps to access respite workers/caregivers using Respite Now:

  1. Visit the Respite Now website
  2. Register with Respite Now
  3. Enter your care needs
  4. Request care (families can request respite care workers by availability, services offered, geographic location, date, time and hobbies and interests)
  5. Be matched

 

Workers Seeking to Provide Care

Workers seeking to provide care follow these steps to connect with families using Respite Now.

  1. Download the Respite Now app at the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create a profile with Respite Now (valid ID and staff moderation will be required)
  3. Enter qualifications
  4. Receive verification
  5. Set availability
  6. Be matched (families are able to match with respite care workersby availability,services offered, geographic location, date, time and hobbies and interests)
