Information on our Life Share Program

The Life Share Program is a deeply meaningful residential option where families or individuals open not just their homes, but their lives, to support someone with an intellectual disability.
It goes far beyond offering a room—it is about creating a true sense of belonging, safety, and connection.
Two people—a woman wearing glasses and a man in a yellow hoodie—communicating using sign language across a wooden table with two cups of coffee between them.
Becoming a home provider means welcoming someone as part of your family, sharing in everyday moments, celebrating successes, and offering comfort through challenges. It is about building relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and dignity.
At its heart, Life Share is about giving someone more than a place to live—it is about giving them a place where they are valued and included. A place where they can grow, feel secure, and truly belong.
It is, quite simply, offering someone “a place in your heart, and a place in your home.”
If you are interested and would like more information, please reach out to Anne Manley at amanley@clth.ca and we can have a chat.

Help us make a difference!

Community Living Trent Highlands advocates with people who have an intellectual disability, their families and member organizations, to create inclusive communities in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough. We envision a community where everyone belongs, is valued, and has the freedom to live the life they choose.
